I've been thinking about a lot of things lately. So many things, I'm still not quite sure what I want to write about. Hence why I haven't written in awhile. Also why I threw in a quote to get me by into I figure out what it was I would write about.
So, today's posting is something I have said and still find myself saying...
It's http://Keeping up with the Kardashians Yes, I watch this silly show. They were in Bora Bora on vacation with their family, for their 20th Anniversary. The entire time, Chris the mother, was acting very insecure about her body image. Instead of having fun with her family laying out in the sun, swimming etc. She stayed wrapped up and just wanted to stay inside.
She talked and even cried about not having any pictures of herself taken. She was feeling so insecure that she thought she heard her son in law call her a tank, when in fact he was talking about the ships at sea.
I found myself relating to how she was feeling. I have said many times and even in this blog how pictures are out of the question unless its just a face shot. No matter how much reassurance she was getting from her family about how she looked. She found herself going deeper and deeper into a depression.
I found this very sad, yet an eye opener. We as women need to stop this type of madness.
If what we look like on the outside is that troublesome, then we need to fix whatever it is that has us hiding out. Why would we ruin something like a family vacation all because we allowed ourselves to get to a place within ourselves we don't like?
Good question and something I will be working on myself.

I watch that show too and love it!
It was nice to see how real Chris was, and even though ash and I were yelling at the TV when she went to that plastic surgeon and he's going on and on about she needs this done and that done...WTF!!! This is what it's come down to? I don't think so!
We all need to embrace our bodies and self-worth. We all are not perfect and that is okay. I know I don't judge the person by their size or looks, but by how they carry themselves and their attitude.
I say, show off your picture...it is who YOU are and who the F cares if you gained weight or not? True friends love you for who you are, not those extra rolls you may have gotten over time. Getting older makes our bodies change and it's a fighting battle for sure, but the true beauty is what's inside and that will shine through!
Love ya M and so happy you posted this. You'll get there, one way or the other. Don't be hard on yourself...just love YOU ;)
